Washington D.C part III

I got it, because my alarm rang at 7.30 in the morning and I stood up quickly that I couldn't think about falling asleep again! Sarah was so cute! She was lying under her whole blanket when I came back from this discusting bathroom.
You should have seen her face when I woke her up, too funny, she looked like a baby. Yeah you did sweety!
We went to Starbucks to get our breakfast. I am an idiot, I left Starbucks with a coffee and a cup of good old whole milk. I don't know what was wrong with me I never have this feeling to need milk, but that is the thing, you can't drink milk here, because it is white water called skim milk!!!
When we were wlking through the streets we found by accident the Ford museum and the house at which Lincoln died. In the museum they had the pillow with hi blood, for me it wasn't real, but alone the thought to see this pillow and the room in which one he died made us goosebumps or however you call this.
Luckily we found the Capitol again, because it took us ages this time to go there and we found out that it is closed on Sundays. Perfect! I was pissed, but don't forget keep smiling!
We went up this bloody hill, why does Washington D.C needs hills? No ones would be fine enough!
Behind the Capitol we saw the Library of Congress

which was for sure closed, because in Washington D.C everybody stays at home on Sundays! What a deal is that, it is the capital city and has a lot of visitors, why are all these buildings closed for god sake!!!







And here on your left you see Sarah and me in front of the Library plus me standing under this light. I don't know why we had to do this, but it was fun climbing up the wall to take a picture and especially because of this police car standing in front of the building

The most important thing is, I have seen it and I was sitting on its stairs


Now we only had to see the Jefferson and the Roosevelt memorial plus the Arlington Cemetery, but first we stopped at the Union Station to see how this would be. For sure at 10.30 in the morning everything is closed, because the shops open at 12. So we decided to see the memorials

Washington D.C part II

For sure Sarah and me slept in instead of standing up early to get some free tickets to the U.S Capitol. We decided so, that we would do it tomorrow. Hopefully, I say we won't get one because we will sleep in again! We left to Starbucks around 10 and on opur way there I heard a guy talking on the phone behind us, wishing someone to enjoy going shopping. I think that was really nice of him, wasn't it?
When he passed us he said, that I would have beautiful hair. Hello, what was this? To talk to someone you can say something else, but this was weird! So he started talking to us where we would come from and bladibladibla. He invited us to go to Starbucks because it would have good coffee, we didn't know that! Shit, he went in, but this was our plan too. Should we go in, wouldn't he think we would like him? At the end we went in, why shouldn't we, only because of this guy would be too silly.
At Starbucks we made our plan for the day. World War II Memorial and for sure the Lincoln Memorial! Why for god seak does this city has to be built like this? Each interesting building is so far from the other one, which ment for us again being tired at the end of the day!
We passed the Washington Monument and took some pics right in front of it again.

We rest there for some minutes, because old ladies arent't good in walking around the whole day, you have to understand that!

This lady saw that Sarah wanted to take a photo of me, but she wanted her ass on my pic. It would be a really nice picture because I know it that I am good looking hahaha, but THIS ASS on the left!!

This fountain was in the middle of this Memorial and I only wanted to take a picture in front of it to have an other reason to rest for some minutes. Now you know it better Sarah!





Yeah I know that I am, starting to complain again, BUT it was a long walk to the Lincoln Memorial and when we arrived there we were near dead. My feed were tired and I was still smiling, because of telling me that these are my vacation, ENJOY it!

YES, she was tired as well so we took a Taxi to the best restaurant here in the USA: McDonalds
I have never done this before in my life, but I ate two McChickens and big fries plus Chicken McNuggets, I am done for the next three months, but we were really hungry. When we left Mces it was dark outside and I started behaving like a baby again, I was scared by all these people running around.
At the hostel we hung around and read and I wrote my postcards and letters, because there wasn't anything else to do.
So we went very early to bed, 10.30, to stand up early on our last day to get the tickets.
We will see, if we can do it. Believe in us!

Washington D.C

Friday the 24th, the day I waited so long for to go on vacation with Sarah!
My alarm rang at 5.20 in the morning and I was surprised, I really stood up quickly. Sarah was still sleeping, so I had the chance to take my time in the bathroom.
5.40 Sarah is still sleeping, but it was a big problem because she wanted to take a shower!
Knock, Knock Sarah it is 5.40
Are you kidding? She jumped, no it wasn't jumping it was more like turning very slowly, out of her bed because she was so tired. She had a good reason to be so tired. Sarah I forgive you! While she took a shower I made coffee and my bed. Poor Sarah, no coffee because the taxi was already standing in front of the house. :-(
6.05 we were sitting in the taxi on our way to the airport.
When we arrived the airport, I noticed that we could check in there on our own Sarah wrote all the informations the computer needed in and we got our tickets. We brought our suitcases over to a person and that was all. No standing in a line and waiting for ages. No, five minutes. Crazy I have never seen something like this before. Maybe the reason is that I am only used to fly in Europe ;-)
While we were waiting for our plane, I anoyed Sarah that I wanted to take a pic from the arrival screen, till I left her to find one. She was so nice and bought fresh Bagels with cream cheese and we had Starbucks coffee. By the way I love Starbucks! It is the best coffee ever
We were bitching a little bit, laughing to loud so that other people may be thoought we were stupid, but the most important thing was that we had fun!
Before I forget it: Controlling of our bags. Sarah was standing in a different line than me and she finished earlier. I put all my stuff in this little box, plus my shoes!, and they controlled it. Haha they found something in my bag! The guy there grapped into my bag and found two big candy canes. This was the time when I really got red! It was so bad. But this is so typical, no one else would try to bring candy canes on a plane, but Lara has to try it! At the end I could take them on the plane and Sarah and me we enjoyed licking them, haha that sounds bad!
The flight was really good, and I hadn't to pay for my drink like in the company called Spanair. I have to bitch about this right now, because I had never to pay for my drink before on an airplane, but these guys took 50cent for juice! Thank you that you feel with me.... We arrived at 11.30 and at 12 at the hostel. Sarah, I forgive you again, but to say the truth, it was really bad, wasn't it?! I felt like on my class trips in school.
First of all we didn't get our room till 2pm, so we had to bring our suitcase downstairs in the basement, but all these lockers were used. haha very funny I never laughed so much
We put them behind the lockers and hoped that no one would take them away.
We left the bloody hostel and here started our real trip!
Look there is a huge building, look on your map what it is: it is the U.S Capitol
we were so exited and especially when we noticed that this was the place when Forrest Gump had his speech in the movie and Jenny ran through the water! We took a lot of pics. After a while, when we went closer to the Capitol, we noticed that there were standing policemen on the walls, hui terrorists! Sarah and me in front of the U.S Capitol and the Washington Monument
We were not sure if we could ask this guy, the policeman with his huge gun, to take a pic with the two of us or if he would kill us. We decided not to do it!

After this we made a short stop in the botanic gardens. Not really interesting.
We saw the air and space museum, which we thought was boring but Sarah got only exited when she saw the costume from two of the actors who played in the Wizard of Oz. I liked R2D2 from Star Wars more ;-)









We left and went over to the Washington monument to take some photos. After that we left the atractions because we had already 5pm and we were really hungry.
But not before seeing the White House, this was the one I wanted to see. It was shit! Too far away and with this bloody fence too bad to take good pictures. I know I shouldn't have done this but I started bitching about Bush right in front of the White House, luckily no one heard me only Sarah and it is so good because she has the same opinion than me!
and The pizza place we chose wasn't the best one and too expensive for this we got.
At 7pm we went with other people from the hostel for an one our tour through Georgetown (there is more action because of many students). Here we saw the university, Kennedys 1st and 2nd house and the famous stairs from the movie The Exorzist.
Yeah, Sarah really wanted to try to get me in a pub, but I knew before that the bloody americans wouldn't let me in, because they are idiots. So Sarah and me we had to do something else. We tried to go shopping, but after I found boots which didn't fit, I wasn't happy anymore and anyway we were so tired from the walking around. We had some ice and of course coffee at Starbucks. At the ice-cream place there was this old guy, who told us we would be special, because we weren't so grumpy than the other girls there.
He told me that I would have a wonderful smile, and asked me if I would have kids. Hahaha am I looking so old, or what?! He said, that my husband have to treat me very good when he will take me as his wife. Ha fun! I am not lying, I say the truth and I am crossing my heart right in the moment
Listen: I am special, so from now on treat me very well!!!
We tried to catch the bus but this bloody thing didn't want to arrive so when it arrived we were two ice cubes after standing so long outside! I was happy when we were sitting in it, but after a while Sarah noticed that we caught the wrong one. haha, so the bus driver let us out on a street and told us to catch an other one. I was near shitting my pants when I saw what was around us. Homeless people wherever you were looking. It was so scary, and the only thing I wanted at that moment was a taxi, which we got after five minutes.
I tell you this city by night is not the best place you can be. With a group of twenty people I would be scared!

10 miles over

Hey, I got it now after two months driving around illegal :-)
Today I got my Illinois Drivers License. I am so glad that I have it now, because I was always afraid driving around illegal, but now I can relax when I am driving and can be always 10miles over like all the other people ;-)
Because of this subject I send greetings to Alex, you will do it, maybe no one does it but she believes in you!!!

MY FIRST TIME

Oh I was so exited when I went grocery shopping with Cameron and got Marshmallows. Not very exiting you will think but I had an idea what to do with this stuff ....
I messed up the kitchen with water. The whole sink had water in it because the peel of the potatoes blocked everything, I had a really bad feeling, after that what happened with Sarah and our toilette hahaha, sorry Sarah but it was so so so funny!
Yeah, and after my work it was my first time drinking hot chocolate with Marshmallows. I love it! It is yummy, for special guests on my homepage tasty :-)
For sure I will do it when I am going back to Germany, I can't believe that I never had this before! Now I will always drink it in the winter timer.
By the way, Americans are crazy! Halloween wasn't over and they started selling Christmas stuff and today I found a Christmas radio station. All the time when people are calling this channel they wish you Happy Holidays. Hello?! It is a long time till Christmas, and they haven't celebrating Thanksgiving which is next Thursday.
I know we Europeans (Sarah I count you too) are the best ones!!!!

A good year

The only thing I have to say to this movie is: Don't waste your money to watch it, although Russel Crow is playing!
It never happened before to me, but: I fall asleep in the movies? It was a really boring movie and I am cranky now that I wasted my money for shit like this. I wanted to see Man of the year with Robin Williams but it wasn't on!
I went with Judith, another german AuPair. We went a little bit too early to the cinema, about two hours. Girls always know what to do with their time, so we were hanging around at Starbucks and I had a really good Peppermint Mocha. Oh my god it is so good! Where is Starbucks in Germany?! This is one of the things I will miss when I am going home, but I am looking forward to go back home, because I have a lot of plnes for the next year!
I felt sick after ywo of these yummy Mochas, maybe that was the reason why I fell asleep so fast. I have no idea why this could happen. I drove Judith home after this and I noticed that it would be more safty not to drive with me in the night when it is raining, I am blind! So long I needn't glasses. My preety face would look like shit hahaha
SO LISTEN TO ME: DON'T WATCH THIS MOVIE!!!!

The Departed

Now I am talking worse than before. This movie was full of bad words. At the ending it was very funny but after a while in each sentence the words F* was used, it was such a good movie. Sarah and I made fun of it when we went out. I asked her: sarah do you know what? F* you!
We did this till I dropped her of at her house, you have to see this movie when it is coming out in Germany! And in this one Leonardo is looking better than normal!
BUt don't be shocked about the ending, because Sarah and I were...
Sarah had a great idea: we should play a drinking game to it. Every time someone says F* you, you have to take a sip of your drink. We would all pass out after 10 minutes.
We will do it, when I am back because I am not aloud here, but when I am back then .....
